100% Milestone: It's Finished!


With this blog post, my project is officially complete! Since the last milestone, I first focused on finishing up all of the art assets, including several background elements, a parallax effect, and a finalized tileset. In terms of gameplay, I've implemented a key & lock system that blocks the player from progressing until a key item is collected. Upon completing the level the player is also sent to a menu that allows them to replay the level or to quit.

Despite only having one completed level as of this post, I'm still satisfied with what I've accomplished in this time. In the future I would definitely like to add more to this game, such as new levels, enemies, and the like. The next order of business, however, is to prepare a short trailer as part of a press kit for this project.
